How to use the Comparisons hub
Where to start
Choose a comparison only after both options meet the same requirement. Bay, cloud, and Ethernet comparisons test architecture choices. The SSD comparison starts after SSD is selected and asks which endurance class fits a stated workload, operating need, and replacement posture rather than presenting an unmaintained product list. It is a continuation of evidence gathering, not a shortcut around calculation.
Recommended workflow
Write the non-negotiable outcome first, quantify it with the relevant tool, and score both options on identical capacity, backup coverage, recovery time, workload, operating effort, and lifecycle cost. Normalize SSD candidates with TBW, DWPD, capacity, warranty term, and per-drive write share before considering class-level features such as telemetry or power-loss protection. Record the evidence source and its date for each important comparison row.
What to prepare
Bring current prices, measured data and throughput, planning horizon, independent-copy requirements, acceptable outage, expansion path, maintenance ability, and exact equipment compatibility. For endurance, also bring the drive rating and observed or modeled host writes. Separate preferences from requirements so a lower purchase price cannot conceal a missing recovery, monitoring, power, migration, or operational-support need in the final shortlist.
What to do next

Save the chosen option, rejected alternative, decisive evidence, review date, and trigger that would justify reopening the decision.
